Ole Miss Football: High-flying offense looks to carry the Rebels in 2021
Ole Miss will have one of the nation’s best offenses
Lane Kiffin is known as one of the top offensive minds in the country and he is going to have Ole Miss in every game because of how much firepower the Rebels have, even though they will be missing two of their top pass-catchers from last season.
Matt Corral is one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC and in the country. He threw for over 3,300 yards and 29 touchdowns and has one of the strongest arms in the country and is unafraid to try and make the big play and he is a much better running threat than you would expect.
The only problem with Corral is just that, he tries to make too many plays and as a result, he threw 14 interceptions. If Corral can cut down on the turnovers, it should only make the offense better.
At running back, Jerrion Early is back after leading the team in rushing with 745 yards and nine touchdowns. Snoop Conner should be the main backup and between him and Early, that is a pretty fearsome running back duo that Ole Miss has.
Ole Miss is going to be missing star wide receiver Elijah Moore and tight end Kenny Yeboah, who were the top two receivers on the team and both were NFL draft picks by the New York Jets. Those guys won’t be easily replaced, but Kiffin’s offense will make it easier for someone to step up and become playmakers. Look for guys like Dontario Drummond, Braylon Sanders, Jonathan Mingo and tight end Casey Kelly to try and replace the production of Moore and Yeboah.
Ole Miss is replacing their offensive line coach Randy Clements, but they have four starters returning and should still be a solid unit.
