One of the least talked about teams that is currently on the rise is Arizona State football. Since Herm Edwards stepped in as head coach, the Sun Devils have made improvements each year with big wins, successful recruiting, and marketability.

But if you are unaware of the rise of the Sun Devils, well you probably have a pretty good excuse.

The Sun Devils play in the Pac-12 which means late-night games. The typical college football fan starts their day with College GameDay, followed by the first set of games that start at 12 p.m. ET. This then means after watching 8-10 hours of college football, the Pac-12 is asking you to watch three more hours of it. Now, for me, that is not a hard request to fulfill but for others, the eyes start to close around 10 p.m. ET.

Anyways, due to COVID-19, the growth of the Arizona State football team was stunted a little last year with the Sun Devils going just 2-2 in what was a waste of a season. But from 2018 to 2019, the Sun Devils increased not only their conference win total by one but also their overall record as well as picking up their first bowl win since 2014.

So what exactly can we expect from the Sun Devils in 2021?

Well, they will be a serious contender to not only win their division but also win their conference championship as well. They will do so behind a great coaching staff, a Heisman hopeful quarterback, and the conference’s best defense.
