Coastal Carolina Football will remain potent on offense in 2021

Coastal runs one of the more unique offenses in the whole country. It is an option-based attack, but Coastal is much better at throwing the football than your traditional option team. It also helps when you have one of the best and most efficient quarterbacks in the country.

You might not have known who Grayson McCall was going into last season, but he quickly became a household name and one of the best quarterbacks in the country.

McCall threw for nearly 2,500 yards and 26 touchdowns, with only three interceptions. McCall is also a very strong running threat, totaling nearly 600 yards rushing to go along with his passing stats. McCall is also a near 70% completion QB and there are not many holes in his game. I expect a huge season from the Chanticleers signal-caller.

One of the only players that Coastal will be missing from last season’s offense will be running back CJ Marable, who signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent.

The guy who will step in to replace Marable will be Reese White, who did start in seven games last season, rushing for 478 yards. Alongside White, Shermari Jones will be a complement and is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball.

The wide receiving corps is going to return the top playmaker in first-team All-Sun Belt performer Jaivon Helligh. Helligh nearly had 1,000 yards receiving and caught 10 touchdowns last season and is hoping for more.

Alongside Helligh will be all-conference tight end Isaiah Likely and fellow receivers Kameron Brown and Greg Latushko. This is a deep group of playmakers for this season. All five starters return on the offensive line, including first-team guard Trey Carter, second-team guard Willie Lampkin and third-team center Sam Thompson.

This offense is going to be tough to stop in 2021 and should be the Sun Belt’s best.
