Veteran QB looks to Utes offense in 2021

Utah is not known to be a prolific offensive team, but Utah is at its best when the Utes have a quarterback who makes good decisions and takes care of the football. I think they have just that in Baylor transfer Charlie Brewer.

After starting for the past four seasons for the Baylor Bears, Charlie Brewer is off to Salt Lake City to try and take the Utes back to the PAC-12 championship game for the third time in four seasons.

Brewer nearly passed for 10,000 yards during his time in Waco and was a great leader for the program during his time there. Utah was missing stability at the position last season and Brewer will bring that to Utah this season.

Utah took a tragic hit in the offseason when starting running back Ty Jordan was killed and it has been a difficult thing for the program in many different ways. On the field, look for the running game to feature Micah Bernard and a couple of transfers in Chris Curry from LSU and T.J Pledger from Oklahoma.

Utah’s receiving corps was hit with transfers this offseason and they are going to need some guys to step up and be a threat. Bryan Thompson transferred to Arizona State and Samson Nacua went to BYU.

Look for Solomon Enis and Britain Covey to be the primary guys at receiver and Brant Kuithe and Cole Fotheringham to be the guys at tight end. The offensive line returns all five starters, including first-team All-PAC 12 member Nick Ford and second-teamer Sataoa Laumea.
