The 2020 season was a success and yet a slight disappointment for Miami football.

On one hand, the Hurricanes won all of the games that they were supposed to; the offensive change was a success and the Hurricanes won eight games. On the other hand, Miami was blown out in its two biggest games of the season against Clemson and North Carolina and missed out on a chance to get to the Orange Bowl. The Hurricanes’ defense experienced a down season and star quarterback D’Eriq King tore his ACL in the bowl game.

Now, Miami brings back a wealth of experience and it hit the transfer portal once again to replace some starters as head coach Manny Diaz hopes that can get the Hurricanes back to the ACC title game.

The biggest boost that Miami got this offseason was when King decided that he would come back for one more season and take advantage of the free year of eligibility that the NCAA gave. He has provided a lot on the field and off for the Miami program and he has been the leader and playmaker at quarterback that the Hurricanes has=ve been lacking for quite some time now.

Miami is hoping with a full offseason, this high-flying attack should be that much better under King and offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee.

This is a big season for Diaz and the direction of the Miami program. Nobody is expecting the Hurricanes to make the playoff and become national championship contenders, but he needs to show that this program is on the right track and not falling further behind Clemson in the ACC, and more importantly, not falling behind North Carolina.

It’s not wrong for Hurricane fans to want 10 wins this season and Miami is capable of getting it done.
