Baylor Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2021 season
Baylor will take a break from Big 12 play in Week 7 against BYU as the Cougars head down to Waco for an intriguing mid-season battle which could be a solid litmus test for Kalani Sitake.
If the Cougars can win this game on the road against a solid Big 12 opponent, they will build some momentum heading into the back-nine of their schedule with the feeling that they deserve to be in the New Year’s Six conversation.
Baylor will end those hopes, however, with an instant classic win. A late touchdown with under a minute left will put the Bears up by four as they secure a big win and inch one step closer to a bowl berth.
Final Score: BYU 20, Baylor 24 (5-2)
Texas is going to look a little different this season as Tom Herman is no longer patrolling the sidelines as he was let go and Steve Sarkisian has taken over.
It was a busy offseason for Texas, but the Longhorns felt that this was the right move for the future of the program, especially if they’re going to eventually join the SEC — a conference in which Sark knows well.
Bijan Robinson is going to cause problems for this Baylor defense as he has a big day despite the Longhorns relying on a first-year starting quarterback this season.
Texas may not be “back” but it won’t take a huge step back in 2021.
Final Score: Texas 28, Baylor 17 (5-3, 2-3)
