Oklahoma football, North Carolina, and Oregon football were the big winners this week in college football recruiting.

The Oklahoma football program is recruiting at a really high level under Lincoln Riley and the Sooners made another major addition on Sunday thanks to the commitment of Brandon Inniss.

Oklahoma football already owns a commitment from the No. 1 quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class and Inniss is the top-ranked wideout according to the 247 sports composite rankings, as well as the 9th prospect overall.

The Sooners beat out Ohio State, Alabama, Florida, and Miami for his commitment, and thanks to it, Oklahoma football currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in 2023.

The Sooners have become known for churning out NFL draft picks on offense and you can see the impact of that on the recruiting trail.

This is the second five-star pledge for Oklahoma football this month and the third overall in the 2023 class, which has five commitments ranked in the top-53 of the composite rankings.

While it’s still early in the 2023 cycle (2022 signing day is still four months away) it’s never too early to start building a stellar class.

When it comes to quarterbacks especially, the trend is to lock them up earlier and earlier. The Sooners did that with Malachi Nelson and locked down an elite receiver to pair with him down the road. Here’s a piece of what Inniss scouting report says about him via 247 sports:

"“One of the most college-ready wide receivers to come out of the high school ranks in recent years. An elite route runner with a competitive edge that can take over games and beat double coverage.”"

This is just another example of the rich getting richer in college football and the offensive juggernaut that is Oklahoma shows no signs of slowing down.
