Texas A&M football had a very successful 2020 campaign. Can they capitalize on opportunities to make 2021 an even better year?

Texas A&M football finished last season with a 9-1 record, including an Orange Bowl win over North Carolina. Their only loss came to eventual champion Alabama, something that most fans were hardly disappointed about.

The highlight of the season was a win over then No. 5 Florida at home with a field goal as time expired. That game changed the complexity of the season for the Aggies and they felt as if they could take on the world.

Now, after possibly being cheated out of a playoff berth — depending on who you ask — the Aggies are ready to take on 2021 with one thing in mind and that is the national title.

Heading into Jimbo Fisher’s fourth year with a new quarterback, the Aggies feel as if things couldn’t be heading in a better direction. The team sits at No. 6 in the preseason Coaches Poll and, while some may call them overrated due to some of the question marks surrounding the quarterback and offensive line positions, this team is ready to go.

Of course, this season isn’t without its challenges. Texas A&M football will travel to Death Valley to face LSU and will face off against a scrappy Missouri team on the road after playing Alabama at home a week prior.

The Aggies also head to Ole Miss late in the season, an offensive explosion they avoided a season ago due to COVID concerns. Will those teams challenge the Aggies’ quest to a perfect season? Probably, but let’s break the Aggies down and see what we think.
