UCLA football has an explosive offense brewing

It’s hard not to get excited about the UCLA offense. The Bruins had the No. 2 total offense and scoring offense in the Pac-12 last season which was also good for the top-15 range nationally and they bring back nine starters to that side of the ball.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson had himself an impressive season, passing for 1,120 yards and 12 touchdowns with 306 rushing yards and three more scores in seven games. The former blue-chip prospect is finally coming into his own and living up to his potential and if he takes another step in 2021 like I think he will, he could be a darkhorse Heisman contender.

The veteran quarterback will have his top two pass-catchers back as Kyle Phillips led the team with 38 receptions and he turned that into 370 yards and two touchdowns. But the team’s biggest threat in the passing game is tight end Greg Dulcich who was quietly one of the best at his position in the country, finishing with 517 yards and five touchdowns on 26 receptions. He’s going to be one of the best tight ends in the nation for 2021.

Chase Cota is also back, but the rest of the receiving corps is relatively inexperienced but incredibly talented.

The run game adds some explosiveness as Zach Charbonnet has transferred in from Michigan and he joins Brittain Brown who rushed for 543 yards and four touchdowns on 6.6 yards per touch. Those two will be more than serviceable in place of a departed Demetric Felton.

And everything will come together nicely with all five starters along the offensive line back.

This offense has crazy potential.
