We just got a taste of college football this past Saturday during Week Zero and here are four things that we learned.

You can feel the excitement across the college football landscape as the rest of the country gets set to join the teams that played in Week Zero.

While there wasn’t a huge slate of college football games last Saturday, it was a nice appetizer for this week’s schedule which is absolutely loaded with marquee matchups.

With the return of fans and what feels like a normal college football season, I can honestly say I’ve rarely if ever been this excited about the upcoming season.

Of course, before we look ahead to Week 1, let’s take a look back at what we learned in Week zero starting with the disaster that was Scott Frost and Nebraska football.

Scott Frost, Nebraska football doomed to fail

One of the biggest storylines that emerged from the first college football Saturday was another terrible performance from Nebraska football.

Scott Frost’s team went into the opener at Illinois with a veteran team. The Huskers returned their starting quarterback and 10 starters on defense. Frost called it his best team.

But then, Nebraska football laid an egg. The Huskers could have easily won the game if they didn’t repeatedly make game-changing mistakes.

Again and again, the Huskers have the same issues. They always seem unprepared and facing an Illinois team coached by first-year head man Bret Bielema, it was clear that Frost is in over his head. This is likely his last season unless things change dramatically and fast.

But there’s no evidence that will ever happen. And now there’s even talk that Frost could be the worst head coach in Nebraska football history. He’s 12-21 right now so you be the judge.
