In a dream matchup to open the 2021 college football season, the Clemson football team will take on Georgia in a battle of elite programs.

If you can’t get excited about watching Clemson football and Georgia on Saturday, you should be checked for a pulse.

Or maybe, you just aren’t a college football fan, because if you love the sport, you’ll be watching the Tigers and Bulldogs do battle down in Charlotte.

Even if we were in the era of a 12-team playoff, which may never come following recent expansion, this game would have a tremendous impact on the bracket.

But in a four-team playoff, it could be gigantic. For the Tigers and Bulldogs and for Clemson football especially, this could make or break its playoff hopes.

With all that in mind, here are three predictions for the Clemson football team, as well as a score prediction for the showdown with Georgia.

D.J. Uiagalelei is the better QB

Saturday night won’t be the first time we have seen D.J. Uiagalelei play in a big game for Clemson. He started against Notre Dame on the road and threw for over 400 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 300-yard game against Boston College and that was as a freshman.

The former five-star recruit and the dynamic 6-foot-4 athlete is going to take the ACC by storm this season and the Bulldogs are going to have trouble keeping him contained.

Clemson football lost Travis Etienne to the NFL draft and the offensive line will need to prove it can play better against elite competition than in the playoff, but the Tigers and their fans will be excited by what Uiagalelei does Saturday and in the battle of the quarterbacks between he and JT Daniels, Uiagalelei will come out on top.
