Winner: UCLA (up to No. 16)

It was a bad week for the Pac-12 overall, but the one shining light has been UCLA. Everyone was waiting to see if the Bruins were for real this past weekend against LSU and they answered the call. It is still unclear how good this win is, but this is a step forward for the UCLA football program under Chip Kelly and the Bruins might just be the best team in the Pac-12 right now.

UCLA looks physical on both lines of scrimmage and the running game has been dominant in its first two games this season. Through two games at least, the Bruins have been big winners so far.

Winner: Penn State (up to No. 11)

It might not have been the prettiest way to win, but getting a road victory versus a top 15 opponent is nothing to sneeze at. Penn State was able to force enough turnovers and hit big plays at the right time to be able to take down the Badgers. Penn State has some questions to answer on offense, but it is nice to be able to figure these things out after a victory.

This win might position Penn State to say that they are the top challenger to Ohio State in the Big Ten. There is still a pretty good-sized gap between them and the Buckeyes, but the Nittany Lions might be the top challenger.
