Loser: Louisiana (dropped out)

The Ragin’ Cajuns were thought to be a team that was capable of going to Texas and upsetting the Longhorns. Louisiana played well and hung around for most of the game, but they were not able to pull the upset, and thus, they were dropped from the top 25.

This is a team that still has everything in front of them, as they have a soft schedule that will allow them to make a run for the Sun Belt title.

Louisiana probably does not have a shot at a New Year’s Six game, however.

Loser: LSU (dropped out)

The Tigers came into the season ranked 16th in the country, but they went on the road and lost to an upstart UCLA team. The Bruins have looked like one of the most improved teams so far through a couple of games and this could be what is seen as a quality loss for the Tigers, but a team as talented as LSU does not like losing games to teams like UCLA.

LSU still has its whole SEC schedule in front of them and there is some time to turn things around, but there is mounting pressure on this program to not slip any further after their terrible season a year ago.
