No Lane Kiffin, no problem.

DJ Durkin stepped up in Kiffin’s absence to lead Ole Miss football to an opening victory over Louisville, 43-24.

The game wasn’t even close throughout as the Rebels built a 26-0 lead in the first half before Louisville finally got on the board with a field goal in the second half. The Rebels would go on to cruise in the final 30 minutes, winning by 19 points and looking good the entire way.

Scott Satterfield needs to get back to the drawing board while Ole Miss will hope to get Kiffin back soon as it continues its quest to shock the nation.

What’d we learn from the Rebels’ big win?

3. Dontario Drummond looks like the next breakout WR

If you were worried about the loss of Elijah Moore from last season, don’t be. While Matt Corral needed to find a new top target, it didn’t take him long on Monday evening.

Dontario Drummond looked like ‘the guy’ for Corral all night long.

The senior receiver had some explosive plays all night long and he was also as reliable as anyone on the field. He looked like he’s set to be that next great Ole Miss receiver after putting up 177 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions.

Ole Miss has a few receivers that could be No. 1 guys, but Drummond definitely took the first step on Monday night and looks like the next breakout guy.
