The SEC West won the majority of its games in Week 1

The only notable loss by an SEC West team was when LSU fell on the road against UCLA.

13. 834. 44. 829. Final

Alabama made a very strong case as to why it should be the No. 1 team in the nation after dominating Miami on a neutral field. The Tide defense looked like a top-three unit in the nation and their offense looked like it didn’t miss a beat from last season.

60. 842. Final. 10. 2245

Auburn did what they were expected to do by dominating Akron at home. The Tigers’ passing game was very efficient but the Auburn run defense stole the show with an amazing overall performance, limiting Akron to -3 yards rushing.

17. 2404. 38. 844. Final

This game was closer than the final scores indicates but the Razorbacks played well in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Arkansas was losing at halftime to a Rice team that hasn’t defeated a Power Five school since 2013.

However, the Razorbacks outscored the Owls 21-0 in the fourth quarter to win the game.

35. 893. Final. 34. 2119

In the largest come-from-behind win in school history, Mississippi State escaped with a one-point victory at home against Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs of Mississippi State outscored the Louisiana Tech 21-3 in the fourth quarter to win the game by one point.

2244. 41. 873. Final. 10

Only up 10-3 at the half, the Aggies offense kicked it in gear to deliver a victory for the home crowd and win by 31. Texas A&M’s defense played well all game long with two interceptions and solid play from the secondary. The Aggies’ offense had five turnovers but also produced 595 yards of total offense.

841. 24. 849. Final. 43

Mississippi’s defense held Louisville scoreless in the first half and the Rebel offense totaled 569 yards of offense. Ole Miss star quarterback Matt Corral threw for 381 yards. It was an impressive win on a neutral field for the Rebels.
