1. Iowa’s defense

If you were to ask most analysts and fans, they would tell you that Georgia or Alabama possesses the top defense in the country and they would not be wrong. However, a defense that I think deserves to be mentioned up there with the best in college football is the Iowa Hawkeyes defense.

This is an elite unit that is about to get a lot more recognition after this weekend.

Iowa completely shut down Indiana and its high-powered passing attack last weekend. Defensive back Riley Moss intercepted two passes and returned them for touchdowns. They held Indiana to only 156 yards passing and just dominated the entire game.

The Hawkeyes defense is going to look to have a similar effort on Saturday. Iowa State is a better all-around team than Indiana was, but they are going to have a hard time moving the ball on the Hawkeyes defense. I think this defense is the number one reason that Iowa upsets the ninth-ranked Cyclones on Saturday.
