After getting humbled by Alabama in week one, Miami Football comes back home to face an upstart App State squad looking for an upset

Week one was a week to forget for Miami Football. The Hurricanes took on college football’s most powerful program and were sent back to South Beach knowing that they were nowhere near the elite level that the Crimson Tide football program is at currently. The good news for the Hurricanes is that they have an opportunity to bounce back and show that they are a good football team this week.

App State is coming into Miami as a confident bunch that they can pull off a big upset of the Hurricanes. The Mountaineers beat East Carolina in a neutral site game in week one in Charlotte.

That might not sound like a big deal but this was supposed to be the best team that Mike Houston has had at ECU and App State held the Pirates to 19 points. App State is going to lean on their ground game against Miami and hope that transfer quarterback Chase Brice can make the necessary throws to be able to beat the Hurricanes.

These two programs met five years ago and the feel around the game is similar to that of 2016. Miami was 2-0 heading into their game that was actually on the road vs App State and there were many thinking that this was a prime upset spot for the Mountaineers.

Miami scored on the first play from scrimmage and never looked back after that and won the game 45-10. Once again, App State is going to be a popular pick to pull the upset this week because of how Miami looked against Alabama. It is going to be up to the Hurricanes to show that while they are not an elite program yet, they are not as bad as they looked last Saturday.

Here are three reasons Miami will beat App State on Saturday.
