Notre Dame football played one of the most exciting games of Week 1, beating Florida State in overtime after choking away an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter.

The Irish came away with a big win to start the season 1-0 and Jack Coan had a heck of a debut with his new team but there’s a lot of work to do.

Notre Dame will look to improve to 2-0 on Saturday afternoon against Toledo but it’ll take a complete effort and the defense will need to step up after crumbling late against Florida State.

Let’s get bold ahead of Saturday afternoon’s game.

3. Jack Coan completes 80 percent of his passes

What an opener it was for Jack Coan against Florida State. It’s going to be tough to top the 26-for-35 for 366 yards and four touchdowns performance that he had against the Seminoles, but he’s facing a far less talented defense and he’s going to put up some numbers.

I don’t think we’ll see Coan pass for over 350 yards again because, well, he just won’t need to throw the ball that much against the Rockets with a decent lead.

If this game is close, which I don’t see happening, I think Coan is going to approach that 300-yard mark but he will complete a majority of his passes. He might even finish with more touchdowns than incompletions.

Coan is going to continue the torrid start to his Notre Dame career with another sparkling start.
