College Football 2021: Winners, losers from Week 3 AP Top 25
College football is off to a crazy start so far in 2021. After a thrilling Week 1, Week 2 brought some huge games that should impact the playoff picture for the rest of the season.
In what was the biggest game of the weekend, Oregon pulled off a stunner in Columbus by upsetting the previously third-ranked Buckeyes. Oregon showed that they are the clear favorite in the Pac-12 and that they are a contender to make the college football playoff. Ohio State is still in good shape with the rest of the Big Ten schedule in front of them, but they have a clear weakness on the defensive side of the ball.
In the other top matchup of the week, Iowa put another showcase effort on defense and upset their rival, the Iowa State Cyclones. Iowa has shown that they have to be considered the top team in the Big Ten West, but they still leave a lot to be desired on offense and if they want to be playoff contenders, the offense will have to make progress.
The rest of the day shed some light on teams that were ranked too high. Texas went to Arkansas and did not look like the team from week one and the Razorbacks got their biggest win in some time on Saturday. USC got blown out by Stanford and it might finally be time for the Trojans to move on from Clay Helton. Michigan shut down Washington and they are off to a good start for a critical season for Jim Harbaugh and BYU snapped a long losing streak to Utah in their rivalry.
After a crazy week in college football, here are the winner and losers from the Week 3 AP Top 25.
