Loser: Ohio State (down to No. 9)

Ohio State still has enough talent to make a run for the national championship, but they have some clear flaws that they need to address on the defensive side of the ball. Ohio State has been really bad at stopping the run through the first two weeks of the season and it cost them against the Ducks on Saturday.

The Buckeyes offense is as good as it gets in college football, but they must do better at running the ball.

There is no room for error for the Buckeyes the rest of the way. I still think they are much better than anyone that they have on their schedule the rest of the way, but their defense is going to have to get much better if they want to make a run at the national championship.

Loser: Iowa State (down to No. 14)

Much like Ohio State, Iowa State has left themselves no room for error if they still hope to make a run to the playoff. Iowa State extended their losing streak to Iowa and could not get anything going on offense.

The Cyclones offense was shut down against Iowa yesterday and they are going to have to find a way to get more explosive in the passing game. Their defense played well enough to get a win yesterday, but the offense has got to catch up with it.

Iowa State still has its entire conference schedule in front of them, so there is still time, but there is a lot that Iowa State is going to have to work on.
