Week 3 of college football will be filled with a ton of exciting matchups and storylines across all conferences. Let’s get a preview of what to expect in this week’s slate of games.

First, let’s look at which team will have a bounce-back week after suffering a major Week 2 loss, kicking off our bold predictions.

5. Florida State will bounce back in Week 3

What an absolute shock it was to see Jacksonville State pull off the game winning touchdown as time expired in Week 2. Jackson State was a 27.5-point underdog and ended up beating the Seminoles 20-17.

For Week 3, things are looking grim as Florida State (0-2) travels to Truist Field to take on Wake Forest (2-0) Sept. 18 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Head coach Mike Norvell is officially on the hot seat after a Week 1 loss to Notre Dame at home and the massive Week 2 upset, despite losing by a combined six points in those losses. This isn’t an awful team— Florida State has talented players, they just need a steady voice to lead them late in games. Look for the Seminoles to put it all on the line and get this must-win game on the road.

Honorable mention: Iowa State will bounce back this week

The No. 14 Iowa State Cyclones (1-1) suffered a tough loss to No. 5 ranked Iowa (2-0) last week in Ames. Head coach Matt Campbell is one of the great coaches in college football and will have his players ready to take on the UNLV Rebels (0-2) Sept. 18 at 10:30 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.

As of this writing, Iowa State is a 30-point favorite as they travel to Las Vegas to take out their frustrations on a team that’s just 8-24 since 2018.
