Did you miss any SEC football action in Week 2? Let’s do a bit of a recap of what happened this past weekend.

For starters, Bo Nix and the Auburn Tigers blanked Alabama State 62-0. There isn’t much to say there. Then, South Carolina escaped East Carolina, 20-17. They struggled offensively the entire game and were just able to get to where the winning field goal was able to be kicked- thanks to a strong performance from their running back Juju McDowell.

Tennessee hit rocky bottom with a loss to Pitt, 41-34, and Florida dominated South Florida 42-20 — though their defense could have played better. Stetson Bennett started for Georgia and helped lead his team to a 56-7 win over UAB. Texas A&M lost its starting quarterback to injury but found a way to win 10-7 in a hostile Mile High environment against Colorado.

Alabama won 48-14 against Mercer. The biggest game of the night, Arkansas versus then-No. 15 Texas, ended in a 40-21 score favoring the Hogs, really welcoming the Longhorns to the SEC which is the conference they will be joining in 2025. Mississippi State knocked off a mediocre NC State team 24-10 and Kentucky held off Missouri 35-28.

Ole Miss and Matt Corrall put a beat down on Austin Peay 54-17 and LSU beat McNeese 34-7, despite many fans being disappointed in their performance. Finally, Vanderbilt finally found a way to win with a strong third-quarter performance, beating Colorado State 24-21.

Now, let’s talk power rankings.
