After a highly successful W1eek 1 for Big 12 football, we began to see some cracks in the armor in Week 2. The Big 12 was 7-3 on the week, after going 9-1 in Week 1. The biggest story was sluggish performances from Iowa State and Texas leading to upset victories.

We also saw some teams in the middle of the pack struggle to run away against a lower class of opponents. You can even make the case that the FCS has been a problem for the Big 12 through the first two weeks.

In the nine matchups between the Big 12 and teams in the FCS, five of them have been decided by one possession. You always expect some rust in September, but some of these games may be a sign of things to come.

In terms of these rankings, two teams in last week’s top three took a loss with Iowa State and Texas falling. This provides a great chance for other Big 12 teams to build momentum and become a legitimate contender to play in Jerry World this December.

After an up-and-down start for the conference, where do these teams rank through the first two weeks of 2021?
