Week 3 is here and we are starting to learn more and more about the top college football teams week by week. This week features mostly non conference matchups still with a few conference games sprinkled throughout Saturday.

There are three top 25 matchups this week and the SEC in particular is heavily involved. The afternoon slate includes Alabama traveling to the Swamp to take on Florida. In primetime Auburn faces Penn State in their White Out game. The late night games, at least for east coast folks such as myself, feature newly ranked BYU hosting Arizona State.

Many folks will be tuned into the big ones, but there are some other under the radar games that are not getting as much national attention. This week’s picks include a couple of top 25 teams so depending on the results, there could be effects on the national picture.

Last week for our under the radar games, it was the tale of opposite ends of the spectrum. Pitt and Tennessee scored a lot of points. Texas A&M and Colorado scored very few points. Finally Air Force dominated Navy but the result really did not matter with it being Sept. 11 and a day of remembrance.

As a mega fan of the sport and not having a horse in the race for any of the under the radar games, I just want to watch some good football and perhaps an upset or two. All three of these games have the potential to be close contests.
