2. Adrian Martinez remains pick-free yet again

Along with being the game’s leading rusher, Adrian Martinez will be relatively mistake-free against the Sooners. Oklahoma hasn’t been great against the pass this season and while I don’t think Martinez is going to throw for big yardage or a bunch of touchdowns, I believe he’ll go a fourth straight game without a pick.

If this seems ridiculous, just remember that last season Martinez had a similar stretch in Big Ten play, but he also failed to throw a touchdown multiple times.

Martinez is going to have a solid day on the ground and through the air as he’ll do his best to keep Nebraska in the game. No, I don’t see an upset happening, but the best players show up on the biggest stages. Martinez is just that.

I’ve been harsh on Martinez over the past couple of seasons but the fact that he’s been interception-free through three games to start the year is a good sign that he’s turned the corner with his decision-making.
