College Football Rankings 2021: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 4
We all knew what we’d get from Iowa’s defense on Saturday afternoon against Kent State, but it was the offense that was a pleasant surprise.
No, we didn’t see the Hawkeyes put up gaudy numbers, by any means, or score a ton of points, but Spencer Petras had his best game of the season and Tyler Goodson looked like a superstar.
In fact, Petras passed for over 200 yards and a touchdown on 25-of-36 completions and Goodson rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns on just 22 carries. The offense finally had a pulse and even though it was Kent State, it has to make the coaching staff and fanbase feel that much better about this team’s Big Ten title and playoff chances.
If the offense can catch up to the elite defense, Iowa is going to be in that playoff discussion until the end of the regular season.
Kirk Ferentz has a solid team here.
