College Football Rankings 2021: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 4
I’ll be the first to admit that I believed Cincinnati would suffer an upset on Saturday afternoon against Indiana.
If you looked at it from an outsider’s perspective, the Hoosiers started the season ranked before losing to a really good Iowa defense and then bounced back to improve to 1-1 against an inferior opponent. Maybe the Hoosiers were just rusty.
Plus, Indiana had the home-field advantage in a big game for the first time this season, but that didn’t seem to faze the Bearcats.
The defense stepped up and suffocated Michael Penix Jr. who had three picks on the game and had just five rushing yards. He also only completed 17-of-40 passes through the air. Not a great game for Indiana’s quarterback.
Desmond Ridder had a solid game with over 200 passing yards and special teams stepped up to respond to an Indiana touchdown with a 99-yard kickoff return.
