Big Ten Power Rankings: Penn State notches big SEC win this week
By Dante Pryor
This week in the Big Ten Power Rankings, Ohio State struggled early before pulling away from Tulsa. Penn State defeated a tough Auburn squad at home.
I really want to know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I really want to know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Come on tell me who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Because I really want to know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Who are you? by The Who
That is the question in the Big Ten. Can we look at the early season struggles in Columbus and say that is who they are? Has Michigan finally found a quarterback and an identity? Could they beat Ohio State for the first time in a decade? Can Iowa contend with their style of play? Are the Badgers back on track?
This weekend saw the Penn State Nittany Lions defeat a better than expected Auburn team in Happy Valley. The Cornhuskers surprised many and played Oklahoma tough in a losing effort. Could that be a springboard to improvement for Scott Frost and the Huskers?
Michigan State went down and handled the Miami Hurricanes 38-17. Kenneth Walker III ran all over Hard Rock Stadium, leading the Spartans to victory.
As we bring week three to a close and prepare for week four, these questions will linger for at least another week.
The most intriguing game of the weekend is Notre Dame and Wisconsin at Soldier Field. Though it is a non-conference game, a Badgers win could build some much-needed momentum for the rest of the season.
In honor of trophies shaped like axes, shillelaghs, buckets, and hogs named Floyd, let’s jump around to this week’s Big Ten power rankings.
