Heisman Trophy Candidate No. 3: JT Daniels, QB, Georgia

This is more of a projection, but based on what we saw from JT Daniels last week in Georgia’s win over South Carolina, he’s going to be a legit Heisman contender.

His numbers weren’t great against Clemson, but as we said during our first ranking after Week 1, Daniels hopes will still be helped by the win over the Tigers.

That win made Georgia a favorite to reach the College Football Playoff and the Bulldogs probably won’t even need to beat Alabama to make it happen if they go 12-0.

So Daniels has that going for him, plus in his first game back from an injury, he threw three touchdowns and passed for 303 yards against South Carolina to open SEC play.

The former five-star quarterback transferred from USC and he’s surrounded by playmakers. Plus he’s completing over 70 percent of his passes this season.

Sure, he’s only got three touchdowns and two interceptions, but he’s going to put up numbers, and as long as he stays healthy and the Dawgs keep winning, he’ll be right there.
