1. App State will defeat Marshall in a close contest

Appalachian State can put up some points and when they do, they win ball games. The Mountaineers have won 34 straight games when they score 30 or more points. The last time they scored more than 30 points and lost the game was Nov. 4, 2017, against Louisiana Monroe (52-45).

Appalachian State is a 7 point favorite as of this writing and ESPN gives the team an 81 percent likelihood of winning the game.

The Mountaineers will need a big game from junior running back Camerun Peoples to put them in a position for success. As a sophomore, Peoples rushed for 12 touchdowns and picked up 1,125 yards.

Appalachian State head coach Shawn Clark will have his team well prepared in this big game. I expect the final score of this game to be somewhere in the range of 38-27 in favor of Appalachian State.

The Marshall Thundering Herd will travel to Boone, North Carolina to take on the Appalachian State Mountaineers on Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.
