Week 4 of college football is finally here, featuring two huge neutral site games, new Heisman Trophy candidates, and the possibility that we have our next coaching dismissal.

Let’s dive into our first bold prediction for Week 4.

5. Another big-name team fires a coach after Week 4

Florida State is in a state of disarray, which is unfortunate for head coach Mike Norvell, who finds himself at the top of many coaching hot seat lists. He very nearly lost his locker room in the summer of 2020 with comments he made about having one-on-one talks with players following the death of George Floyd — talks that reportedly never happened.

The Seminoles are just 3-9 under Norvell. That record would very likely be worse if not for the cancellation of games against Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest during the 2020 pandemic-stricken season.

Norvell will try to guide his ‘Noles to their first win of the season against a formidable foe in Louisville. If the team falls short, his job may very well be in jeopardy.

Miami head coach Manny Diaz is 15-12 since he was promoted to head coach, but seems like he’s on a downward trajectory.

The Hurricanes have lost four out of their last five games dating back to last season. The lone win of this season was a two-point win over Appalachian State. If the ‘Canes do anything other than totally blow out Central Connecticut, Diaz may be on his way out of Miami.

See what happens when Florida State takes on Louisville on Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m. EST on ESPN2.

Will Manny Diaz and the Hurricanes be able to course-correct on Sept. 25 at 12:30 p.m. EST on ESPN3?
