College football’s Week 4 is here and hard to believe it is already the last weekend in September. More conference games are starting to fill the weekend slates as we get closer to October.

Last weekend delivered some fantastic matchups. Through the first month, we are starting to gain some pieces to the puzzle of what teams will be contenders. What has been surprising so far are the teams everyone thought would be good have not lived up to expectations. Ohio State and Clemson fall into this category. There is time for both to right the ship but another loss could be the nail in the coffin. Even though still undefeated, Oklahoma has not looked dominant in victory, possibly opening the door in the Big 12 title race.

Now on the other side of that are teams defying expectations so far. Iowa, Penn State, BYU, and Arkansas have charged out of the gate and all four teams own at least one win over a Top 25 opponent. Time will tell if these teams will be able to keep their strong starts going.

Now back to the Week 4 matchups, there are only two top 25 games on tap. Aforementioned Arkansas gets its chance to prove that it’s a contender against Texas A&M. In what could be the game of the week, Wisconsin and Notre Dame square off at Soldier Field in Chicago.

There are some other games with the potential to shape conference races and the national picture. Let’s take a look at three under-the-radar games this Saturday.
