It turns into a slugest

Remember the Wisconsin-Penn State game? Well, this one could be similar to that.

The lack of scoring probably won’t be that extreme. I would expect there to be some points by halftime, but it’s going to be an old-school battle where the first team to 20 points might win.

Both Wisconsin and Notre Dame want to run the football. The Irish haven’t done that very well and will need to improve Saturday, which won’t be easy against Wisconsin, a team that’s tough in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

I don’t see the Irish doing much on the ground, but by the same measure, Notre Dame should be able to limit Wisconsin and Chez Mellusi (265 yards in two games) too, at least to a point, making it about the quarterbacks.

It’s also about which defense can force the other team’s quarterback to make a mistake and that will be Notre Dame, who will get a key takeaway or two — just enough for Coan and company to escape Chicago with a win.
