7. team. 833. . 3-0. . Wildcats

Defeated: UL Monroe 45-10, Missouri 35-28, and Chattanooga 28-23
Strength of Schedule: 97th
Road Victories: 0
Wins vs. Power 5 teams: 1
Next opponent: at South Carolina

Kentucky looked great on both sides of the ball in their season opening win again UL-Monroe. Then the Wildcats won a hard fought game at home against in-conference opponent Missouri. The confusing game was the Wildcats struggling against FCS opponent Chattanooga where they only won that game by single digits. Kentucky will have a good opponent in Week 4 but they will win in overtime and defeat South Carolina on the road.

Week 4 prediction: Kentucky 24, South Carolina 21 (OT)

team. 860. . 3-0. . Bears . 6

Defeated: at Texas State 29-20, Texas Southern 66-7, and at Kansas 45-7
Strength of Schedule: 117th
Road Victories: 2
Wins vs. Power 5 teams: 1
Next opponent: Iowa State

After a tough and unexpected close game on the road against Texas State, the Bears have been dominate on offense and defense in their victories over Texas Southern and Kansas. Baylor has a tough task as they host Iowa State in Week 4. Look for the Bears to play a good first half but the Cyclones will prove why they are the 14th-ranked team in the country and defeat Baylor giving them their first loss of the season.

Week 4 prediction: Iowa State 34, Baylor 17

3-0. . Red Raiders . 5. team. 874.

Defeated: at Houston 38-21, Stephen F. Austin 28-22, and FIU 54-21
Strength of Schedule: 84th
Road Victories: 1
Wins vs. Power 5 teams: 0
Next opponent: at Texas

Texas Tech has played some amazing halves of football and then played some not so good halves of football. Regardless, the Red Raiders are undefeated with an opportunity to go 4-0 with a victory over in-state rival Texas. Had this game been a home game for Texas Tech, I could see the Red Raiders pulling off a possible upset over the Longhorns. However, Texas seems to be back on track after a road loss to Arkansas, and the Longhorns should be able to defeat Texas Tech on their home field.

Week 4 prediction: Texas 41, Texas Tech 24

Defeated: at Washington State 26-23, North Dakota 48-24, and at Air Force 49-45
Strength of Schedule: 105th
Road Victories: 2
Wins vs. Power 5 teams: 1
Next opponent: Boise State

Utah State seems to be the most under the radar team this season as they have two impressive road victories that they won in very hard fought games. They dominated North Dakota in the second half and are one of the few teams in these rankings that have two road victories thus far. It would seem that Boise State would win this game on paper but look for Utah State to win this game to remain undefeated.

Week 4 prediction: Utah State 31, Boise State 28

824. . 3-0. . Terrapins . 3. team

Defeated: West Virginia 30-24, Howard 62-0, and at Illinois 20-17
Strength of Schedule: 39th
Road Victories: 1
Wins vs. Power 5 teams: 2
Next opponent: Kent State

Maryland’s opening week victory over West Virginia looks even more impressive now that the Mountaineers defeated Virginia Tech in Week 3. In the Terrapins first road game, they struggled against Illinois but found a way to win late to remain undefeated. Kent State is better than its record shows but Maryland will defeat the Golden Flashes to go 4-0 on the season.

Week 4 prediction: Maryland 41, Kent State 17

856. . 3-0. . Cowboys . 2. team

Defeated: Missouri State 23-16, Tulsa 28-23, and at Boise State 21-20
Strength of Schedule: 53rd
Road Victories: 1
Wins vs. Power 5 teams: 0
Next opponent: Kansas State

If you look at Oklahoma’s close games, you may think that they are overrated in these rankings. However, the Cowboys have a strong defense and their offense scores when they need to. Their road victory over Boise State showed a lot of grit and resilience and they hope to take that momentum into their game against Kansas State. The Wildcats have played well this season but this is their first road game of the season. Look for Oklahoma State to win this game at home in overtime in an upset over Kansas State.

Week 4 prediction: Oklahoma State 24, Kansas State 21 (OT)

1. team. 901. . 3-0. . Aztecs

Defeated: New Mexico State 28-10, at Arizona 38-14, and Utah 33-31 (3OT)
Strength of Schedule: 92nd
Road Victories: 1
Wins vs. Power 5 teams: 2
Next opponent: Towson

It is somewhat surprising that San Diego State is not ranked after two wins over Pac-12 teams with one of them being on the road and none of their wins are against FCS teams. The Aztecs defense was outstanding in their first two games against Arizona and New Mexico State and their offense played very well in a thrilling triple overtime win over Utah. San Diego State will have no trouble in Week 4 and will remain undefeated.

Week 4 prediction: San Diego State 51, Towson 3
