2. The Rushing Attack Continues to be Among the Nation’s Best

It was going to be interesting to see how Gators head coach Dan Mullen adjusted to his new offensive personnel with the losses they suffered in the offseason. Gone were quarterback Kyle Trask, tight end Kyle Pitts, and wide receivers Kadarius Toney and Trevon Grimes.

Mullen is one of the best offensive minds in the country and it was assumed he would find his way to make this offense lethal, much as he did for years at Mississippi State.

So far in the 2021 season, that has been largely correct. The Gators have found a new identity through a rushing attack that is powered behind a better-than-expected offensive line and a deep stable of running backs.

The big question mark was at QB, with Emory Jones getting the start and after a shaky start, Jones has been really solid at directing the offense for the Gators.

This ground attack was once again dominant against Tennessee tonight. The Gators got push up front and the backs broke several tackles. I expect this running game to only improve and be a force to reckon with all season.
