College Football Rankings 2021: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 5
Oklahoma escaped with a win over West Virginia in Week 4 but honestly it didn’t feel very promising for the Mountaineers. They struggled most of the night to get anything going and you have to wonder if the offense is just not as good as everyone expected before the season.
Spencer Rattler did finish with 256 yards and a touchdown on 26-of-36 passing but he threw an interception and didn’t get much help from the run game.
In fact, the rushing attack finished with just 57 yards on 28 carries as Eric Gray led the way with just 37 yards on 11 attempts. It’s time to wonder if there’s some disconnect on offense with the offensive line and the run game.
The Sooners did win by three and they can rest easy not that they’re 4-0 on the season with a win over a potential contender in West Virginia, but it wasn’t a blowout like some expected.
Oklahoma will remain No. 4 just because Iowa also looked bad.
