The offensive line is the weakest link at the moment

The Notre Dame offensive line is struggling right now. Wisconsin is a very good defensive unit and that showed on Saturday in big ways. The Badgers were able to hit home and get to the Irish quarterbacks six times.

Pass protection has been shaky but so has the run game. So far this year the Irish really just have not got the run game going to what we saw in years past. When you take in sack yardage Notre Dame finished the game with three rushing yards on 32 rushing attempts.

Again, give credit to the Badgers front for stuffing and stopping the run, but Notre Dame needs to get the running game going sooner rather than later.

Injuries have shaken up the line as well so far for Notre Dame. The Irish have had four left tackles in four games which nobody obviously expected either. Has to be a next man up philosophy for the offensive line unit.

Replacing four starters on the offensive line is never easy. Right now it is showing for the Irish. The talent is there for these guys, and I believe it can get a lot better since it is only four games into the season. Still a lot of season for them to find their identity as a unit.
