Heisman Trophy watch 2021: Top 5 candidates after Week 4
Heisman trophy candidate No. 2: Bryce Young, QB, Alabama
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young continued to shine over the weekend as he threw for 313 yards and five touchdowns in a rout of Southern Miss.
Young did throw an interception, which was his first of the season, but his numbers are still eye-popping with 15 touchdown passes compared to the one INT. He’s also got 1,124 yards passing (19th in the nation) and has the sixth-best QBR at 87.7.
And while Miami isn’t as good as expected, playing the Hurricanes and Florida Gators in two of the first four games is more challenging than the schedules most teams play.
Simply put, Young has been spectacular for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. He’s been as good as advertised and frankly, he could become the Heisman favorite Saturday.
Ole Miss and Matt Corral will be in town to face the Crimson Tide. It’s the top Heisman contenders right now squaring off and the winner will likely have the early edge to win it.
