14. Florida State Seminoles (0-4, 0-2 ACC)

Florida State’s descent to being one of the worst football programs in the ACC is a confluence of issues. The athletic department has had all kinds of fiscal problems; it was run much like a mom-and-pop small business at times.

The football program facilities fell behind the rest of the conference, and the state of Florida was no longer exclusive to Miami, FSU, and Florida when it came to recruiting. After Jimbo Fisher left, Willie Taggart and now Mike Norvell inherited a dumpster fire.

As a result, the product is flawed, fans aren’t coming, and the “Fire Mike Norvell” train has started on the tracks.

13. Virginia Cavaliers (2-2, 0-2)

After the way the V-Men were handled by Wake Forest Friday night, two things became glaringly apparent. First, reporters put too much stock into the way Virginia dominated Illinois. Second, not enough attention was paid when the Cavaliers scored just 11 points in the second half of their loss to UNC.

The offense is one-dimensional, and the defense is as bad as it has ever been since Bronco Mendenhall left Provo for Charlottesville. There is a lot to figure out for the Cavaliers. The offensive line is not much good, and Virginia can’t stop anyone.
