Penn State football enters the month of October with a perfect 4-0 record, including a conference win over Wisconsin on the road. They are ranked in the top five in the nation. Most prognosticators did not have the Nittany Lions performing this well but here they are.

Penn State is getting it done on offense with a great passing attack. Sean Clifford is putting in his best effort and he has a pair of outstanding receivers in Jahan Dotson and Parker Washington with a clear number three emerging in KeAndre Lambert-Smith.

Indiana sits at 2-2 with wins against Idaho and Western Kentucky and losses to top-10 teams Iowa and Cincinnati. Against the Hilltoppers last Saturday, the Hoosiers appeared to start figuring out some things in a game they never trailed.

With Ohio State looking vulnerable this season, the Big Ten race appears to be wide open. With their play so far, Penn State is certainly one of the leading contenders for the conference crown. Can the Hoosiers beat the Nittany Lions in consecutive years? Signs point to no. Indiana had a very good season last year in a very odd year due to Covid. They may be regressing to the mean this season.

Penn State football looks legit right now and should not be slowed down at home by Indiana. Here are three reasons why they win and advance to 5-0 heading into a potential top five showdown against Iowa next week.
