If I told you before the season that Arkansas football would be 4-0 after one month of play and ranked in the top 10, you would have called me insane.

Well, that’s exactly the position the Razorbacks are in heading into the month of October. They have won four straight games to start the year which is especially impressive given the fact that they lost Feleipe Franks and Rakeem Boyd in the offseason.

Sam Pittman has this program turned around and the culture has changed.

Now let’s get bold ahead of October’s tough slate.

3. Trelon Smith averages 100 rushing yards per game

Trelon Smith broke out in a big way a season ago, rushing for over 700 yards and out-performing Rakeem Boyd who has since departed for the NFL.

This season, he’s off to a solid start with 298 yards and three touchdowns through four games, but he hasn’t truly had a huge game yet. He’s been a decent part of the offense, racking up 59 carries and averaging 5.1 per touch, but he hasn’t reached his potential in the backfield yet.

I could see Sam Pittman relying more on his junior running back from Houston, Texas, in the month of October as he’ll average over 100 yards per game on the ground.

Through four games, he has just one 100-yard performance, but he’s coming off a solid 82-yard showing against Texas A&M and momentum is starting to build.
