We made it through the first month of college football and what a month it was. A lot of carnage occurred in September. Per ESPN, 25 ranked teams lost, the most through the first four weeks of a season in the poll era. As we enter October and conference races heat up, it is an exciting time to be a fan.

Alabama and Clemson have been the mainstays at the top of the rankings since the 2015 season. Not anymore as Clemson has already lost two games. The Tigers are teetering on the brink of dropping out of the AP Top 25 for the first time since November 2014.

Some of the 2020 season’s surprises have disappeared from the rankings as the calendar turns. North Carolina, Iowa State, and Indiana all find themselves at 2-2 and searching for answers on how to right their ships.

On the bright side of things, there are other teams that are surprisingly 4-0. Arkansas, BYU, Michigan State, and Wake Forest all find themselves undefeated and ranked.

Can October be just as fun as September was? As fans, we all certainly hope so. Week 5 certainly has the makings of an exciting week. There are four ranked versus ranked matchups this week, including two monster top 10 games.

Besides the top games, there are also some other intriguing contests with some interesting things at stake. We will take a look at three of those under-the-radar games.
