After an emotional win over Cincinnati in Week 5, Notre Dame will go on the road to take on a tough Virginia Tech team that’s off to a 3-1 start with a recent loss to West Virginia on the road.

Braxton Burmeister has been solid this season at quarterback for the Hokies, but I’m just not sold on him or the team as a whole.

Virginia Tech jumped into the AP Top 25 after beating North Carolina in the season opener but that win is looking a little less impressive now. The Hokies’ only other wins are against Middle Tennessee and Richmond and that’s not exactly a great resume for Justin Fuente heading into this one.

A win over a top-10 team in North Carolina to start the season was impressive, but the Tar Heels have since fallen to 2-2 on the year with a loss to Georgia Tech by 23 points while Virginia Tech is slightly above average.

The Irish are going to win on the road to improve to 6-0.

Final Score: Notre Dame 31, Virginia Tech 21 (6-0)
