College Football Rankings 2021: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 6
How much do we trust Oklahoma after five games this year? Honestly, not a ton. The Sooners were up 34-17 on Kansas State in the second half before the Wildcats stormed back and made it a one-score game but Oklahoma held on to win 37-31.
I think we’ll see the Sooners stay at No. 6 this week but they’ll be jumped by another team that had a really good win on the road over a top-10 team.
Spencer Rattler had a solid game and had to quiet some of the doubters in his own fanbase who had been hoping for better play out of the Heisman contender. He completed 22-of-25 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns.
The defense didn’t look all that great against Skylar Thompson again as he went for 320 yards and three touchdowns on 29-of-41 completions as he almost led the Wildcats to a wild come-from-behind upset over Oklahoma.
Lincoln Riley is one more close call against a lesser opponent away from being completely ignored by the playoff committee as a top-four team.
