Georgia Football: 3 takeaways from home win against Arkansas
By Dante Pryor
A boa constrictor is a snake that curls itself around its prey, slowly crushing and smothering the unfortunate animal until the constrictor is ready to eat. No animal in the animal kingdom is a more appropriate metaphor for Georgia football’s dismantling the Arkansas Razorbacks today.
With J.T. Daniels ruled out of the game during warm-ups, head coach Kirby Smart and the offensive staff decided to use arguably their most valuable asset to dominate the game, their offensive line. Georgia went out and ran for 273 yards on 56 carries.
Not only was the Bulldogs offensive line dominated, their defensive line dominated as well. The Razorbacks could not get anything going running the football this afternoon. Add dominating time of possession, and the boa constrictor was on against Arkansas.
Arkansas did not help themselves this afternoon either. The Razorback committed 13 penalties for 101 yards and never got ahead of the sticks in this game. Quarterback K.J. Jefferson, who was so prolific against Texas A&M last weekend, had 86 total yards.
Georgia got Arkansas down early, and the Razorbacks had no response. Here are three takeaways from a dominant Bulldogs’ win.
