2. Defense overcame a rough start

It was a rough first quarter. The game began in a near kickoff return touchdown but was stopped just short. TCU continued to go ahead and score the first touchdown just seconds into the game.

Just when it was starting to look like the Texas defense would not be able to stop the Horned Frogs’ offense, the Longhorns kept showing up at the right place at the right time.

A highlight was a muffed punt by Derius Davis. It was continuous mistakes like that by TCU’s offense that kept Texas ahead. With those mistakes erased, the game could have gone either way.

Texas overcame a bad start but against Oklahoma next week, they cannot rely on luck and the Sooners’ offensive struggles to win. Everybody has got to step up.
