This weekend two of Big Ten football’s best teams will clash in a battle of top five programs. The Penn State Nittany Lions travel to Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Nittany Lions come into the game ranked fourth while the Hawkeyes are ranked third.

Elsewhere in the conference are a couple of intriguing games on what is a relatively light schedule this weekend in the Great Lakes conference. Ohio State has been quite ornery the last couple of games. Maryland has the offense, but can they keep up with Ohio State or suffer another blowout loss?

Next to Penn State vs. Iowa, Michigan traveling to Nebraska is the second most intriguing game of the weekend in the Big Ten. The ‘Huskers gave Oklahoma all it could handle three weeks ago and should have beaten Michigan State.

Nebraska then manhandled Northwestern 56-7, the worst loss in the Pat Fitzgerald era. Michigan is playing like Wisconsin East, using the power running game to set up their play-action passing game. Can the Cornhuskers finally win one of these close games?

So, to rivalry trophies in the shape of axes and buckets, not to mention Rosedale’s named Floyd, here are the Big Ten Power Rankings ahead of Week 6.
