3. No turnovers from the offense or special teams

Notre Dame will play a clean game and not turn the ball over. Last week hurt in the turnover department as the Irish had three turnovers as a team against Cincinnati. Those three turnovers led to 10 points for the Bearcats which really was the difference on the scoreboard.

Right now, Jack Coan is listed as the starter on the depth chart, but do not be surprised if we see a mix of Tyler Buchner and Drew Pyne as well at some points in the game. Pyne played the whole second half last week so maybe the Notre Dame coaching staff is trying to trick Virginia Tech into thinking Coan is the actual starter.

I guess we will find out officially on Saturday night if Brian Kelly is bluffing or not.

All week in practice, I’m sure the coaching staff really put an emphasis on taking care of the ball and not turning it over this week and that translates over to the game Saturday night.

The Irish will rebound this week and have no turnovers. The last thing you want to do is go into a hostile environment and make things more difficult and give the rowdy crowd more reasons to be louder. It will still be a loud and crazy crowd, but it will not be because of the Notre Dame turnovers.
