Nebraska football will host Michigan on Saturday in a monster college football game and here’s why the Huskers will win.
On a Saturday filled with big-time matchups in college football, one of the most underrated games of the day is between Nebraska football and Michigan and it’s in primetime.
The ninth-ranked Wolverines head into Lincoln with a ton of momentum following a 5-0 start and a 21-point road win over Wisconsin. It wasn’t a huge shock that Michigan football won, it was more the way the Wolverines did it.
Their defense was exceptional against the Badgers but did allow a season-high 17 points which makes you think Nebraska football might be able to get something going.
The Huskers are a home underdog and we’ll see if that’s a wise bet or not, because it feels like a night for a season-defining win and here’s three seasons the Huskers will get it.
Michigan hasn’t faced anyone like Adrian
Adrian Martinez can be up and down, but for the most part, he’s been on the up-and-up for Nebraska football this season. He’s completing 66 percent of his passes and has just two interceptions. He’s also leading Nebraska football in rushing yards and touchdowns.
Michigan has played some solid quarterbacks but no dual-threats and we’ll see how new defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald handles it.
He’s going to try and confuse Martinez and force him into a costly mistake or two. It might happen once but as long as Martinez avoids multiple errors and as long as he can break off some big runs, both in the open field and in the red zone, Nebraska can pull the upset. He’s the X-factor.
