Game 10: vs. North Carolina State

Following a brutal road affair, Wake will come home for Senior Day. The only problem is who will be there to greet them.

After a battle with UNC, the Deacs will have to endure NC State, who is also the only team on Wake’s schedule that, as previously established, is currently ranked.

Luckily, the Wolfpack seem to have done very little outside of achieving a narrow victory over the so-far underwhelming Clemson Tigers, so one can still make a case for Wake Forest having the edge in this one. But still, nothing about this matchup feels easy: 60 percent.

Game 11: at Clemson

There are lopsided rivalries, and then there is the rivalry between Wake Forest and Clemson.

The Demon Deacons will be exhausted at this point, and heading into one of college football’s deadliest atmospheres will not exactly serve as a remedy for that.

Clemson may be down right now, but that doesn’t erase the fact that they have an all-time coach in Dabo Swinney, along with some of the most talented collegiate stars in America. As of now, Wake has about a 30 percent chance of pulling this one off.

Game 12: at Boston College

Ah yes, what better way to wash down a visit to Clemson than with a visit to Boston College — which is 4-1 — by the way?

Boston College, similarly to NC State, does not look overly formidable when looking beyond their record. However, this just might be the worst possible time for Wake Forest to head over into their neck of the woods.

Keeping in mind the toll that these last few games will most likely have on the Deacs (especially uninterrupted), we’ll give them a 50 percent chance to end their regular season with a win in Massachusetts.

Calculation

Multiplying all of the Demon Deacons’ chances to win together, they have approximately a 2.8 percent chance to win out and finish their regular-season stretch undefeated. In other words, it is safe to say that the odds of successfully doing so are not in their favor; but hey, being unbeaten this far into the year was probably also seen as unlikely.
